311

Can you believe that a group that has such a modern flare for music like 311 was actually formed in the late 1980s? Perhaps the music from this era inspired this rock band from Omaha, Nebraska, turning them into the successful performers that they are. Almost all of their albums made it to the top 15 of Billboard's Top 200, and eight of their repertoire have made it at least to the top 5 on Billboard's Modern Rock Radio chart. Or maybe it was their meager beginnings as a band. In the early 1990s, they paid for their own tours in the beginning and the release of their first album, "Unity." The guys drove to the venues on their first tour in an aged RV owned by one of the member's fathers and they towed a VW bus that held their equipment. As if the traveling wasn't bad enough, the RV caught fire along the way and the band mates had to jump through the flaming doorway to escape. All was lost in the fire but, luckily, no one was seriously hurt. The determined band continued their tour, using equipment that they borrowed. Their song "Omaha Stylee" references the incident.

311 didn't have a successful album until 1993. "Do You Right" from their album titled "Music," made it to the 27th spot on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart. They had plenty of success after that, including their self-titled album, which is also known as "The Blue Album." The most popular song on the album, "Down," wasn't even released until 14 months after the album was released. Their other popular song from that album, "All Mixed Up," reached triple-platinum.

Don't waste a chance to see this talented band performing songs from their ninth album, "Uplifter." Concerts have been scheduled across the country this spring and summer. EventTicketDepot has all the tickets you'll need for the best seats and at the lowest prices.
