New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints have firmly cemented themselves into NFL history by winning their first ever Super Bowl in 2010, making them the champions of professional football. The team had never previously even been to the Super Bowl and their unsuspected victory carried the emotions of the city on their backs. They beat the favored Indianapolis Colts with the strength of their quarterback, Drew Brees, a graduate of Purdue University, and the game was very exciting for fans and non-fans of the team.
Since Hurricane Katrina devastated the City of New Orleans in 2005, the New Orleans Saints have been one of the few shining stars that have brought the city together and gave them all something positive and fun to focus on. The Saints fans, called the "Who Dat nation" are very devoted to their team and even have special chants and songs. Walking around New Orleans the day before a big game, you can hear fans shouting to one another, "Who Dat!" The phrase, first coined in minstrel shows and vaudeville, was adopted by Saints fans in the early 1980s.
The New Orleans Saints play their home games at the historic Superdome, which is an incredible place to watch a football game. The main reason for this is the fact that the domed arena is one of the loudest places at which you will ever attend a football game. Like the Metrodome in Minneapolis, the sound is trapped by the domed roof and pushed back onto the field, adding to the excitement and fun of the game.
After their big win in the Super Bowl, the Saints are expected to have another great season this year. If you want to check out the Saints in New Orleans or maybe at one of their away games at another stadium, EventTicketDepot has all the tickets you could want.
