One of the fastest growing genres in all of pop music is Christian pop rock music. A big part of that movement is thanks to the Newsboys who have been making Christian pop rock music since 1985. They have maintained a strong presence in the world of Christian music, with some mainstream success as well.
Originally called only The News, the group began in Australia and its original members were Sean Taylor, Peter Furler, and George Perdikis. The group became the Newsboys, however, due to the popularity of Huey Lewis and the News. The Newsboys have gone through transformations to their group membership over the years, including one of the members leaving the group to be a pastor. Despite the numerous changes, the band has continuously released quality albums and gone on tours around the world to promote their music.
Recently, former member Jody Davis returned to the band when another member left to work on solo projects. This return was welcomed by fans who loved Davis's contributions to the band. Their most recent album was released in 2009 and was called, In the Hands of God. They are expected to release another album called, Born Again, this year.
Newsboys will tour on behalf of both In the Hands of God and Born Again, and fans will be able to hear these great new songs in person. Christian concerts are usually great outlets for teenagers, especially those who feel that they cannot express their love of Christian music and Christianity around their friends. The concerts give a sense of unity to all those fans who are there for a common purpose beyond just the music. To see Newsboys in concert, check out the ticket availability at EventTicketDepot.
