Pittsburgh Pirates

The Pittsburgh Pirates haven't been outstanding in recent years. Last year, they shed some players in the hopes of lowering its payroll and, some said, they didn't show signs of wanting to rebuild the team. Tell that to Delwyn Young. The Pirate has had a tremendous spring, knocking out more home runs than anyone in spring training. No other MLB players has more RBIs than him either. He's the team's hottest player and with all of those credentials, he may remain on the team's bench during the regular season. Want to see this talented player on the regular season roster? Then petition the owners and manager by going to the Pirates' games and make your opinion known.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have not gotten off to the greatest start this season and have struggled to gain wins.  Despite this, the Pirates have some very loyal fans who continue to support them, no matter what their record. Pirate fans have gone a long time since they saw their team win a World Series championship, with the last being in 1979.  The team has also not even been to the playoffs at all since the late 1990s.  The team is hopeful that they can turn things around, however, with such players as Ronny Cedeno.

The team has a long history in Major League Baseball which is part of the reason for their great fan base, as they were first established over 100 years ago in 1887.  The team has black, grey, and gold for its colors and has a great logo featuring a pirate with an eye patch, wearing a red bandana.  He also has two baseball bats crossed behind his head.  It is a similar look to the logo of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the NFL, although they use swords in the background rather than baseball bats.

The Pirates play their home games at PNC Park, a newer stadium that first opened in 2001.  Prior to that, the team played at historic Three Rivers Stadium for thirty years.  The move to PNC Park was a welcome one for the fans, as the newer stadium had a lot of the more modern amenities that were missing in the older park.  These things including such simple luxuries as ample bathrooms, cup holders in the seats, and better views from all the seats in the park.

If you are a fan of the Pirates, or are just in the area and would like to check out all the great things that PNC Park has to offer, you can get tickets here on EventTicketDepot.  You can also get tickets to see the Pirates at other ballparks around the country.
