Reverend Horton Heat

Reverend Horton Heat is the man AND the band. The Reverend has been bringing his version of hard rocking psychobilly music for years, thrilling audiences and taking the world by storm, relentlessly touring, a hillbilly shock troop of crazed musicians, playing a combination of punk, country, swing and rocking good times. The band describes itself as "country-fed punkabilly" and that's as good a description as anything. Reverend Horton Heat, the man and the band are appearing in concert.  Influenced by psychobilly pioneers, The Cramps, Reverend Horton Heat has added an alternative rock sound to the style. Born James C. Heath, a club owner named him the Reverend Horton Heat at an early gig because of his preaching singing style. The band is Reverend Horton Heat (vocals, guitars), James "Jimbo" Wallace on upright bass, and Paul Simmons on drums. Recording for Seattle's Legendary Sub Pop label, the band released albums such as Smoke 'Em If You've Got 'Em, Liquor in the Front (Poker in the Back), and It's Martini Time. The Reverend Horton Heat's music has been heard in a number of contexts. His song "Like a Rocket" was used as the theme song for the Daytona 500, "I Can't Surf" was used in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater3, and "Psychobilly Freak-out" was used in Guitar Hero 2. The band has also appeared on television, on Homicide: Life on the Streets and The Drew Carey Show.
