What has to be the most interesting thing about metal band Saliva is that they do not come from California or Seattle, or even the UK. Rather, they are somewhat unique in that they hail from the southern United States. Specifically, the band first got together in Memphis, Tennessee in 1996. They have been labeled both alternative metal and southern metal, and even grunge by some folks. Whatever their label, they have a great rock sound with an interesting touch given their southern roots.
Saliva has released several successful records and has quite a fan base who appreciates their ability to try new things and see what kind of innovative music that they can make. One interesting project had them doing a cover of the song I Love Rock and Roll. While that is interesting in and of itself, what is more interesting still is that they performed it with a rap star, specifically fellow Memphis native Yo Gotti. This showed the band's ability to cross over into other genres and really embrace music as a whole, rather than just fitting into a mold
Although Saliva has not released a new album of material this year, they did release a greatest hits album called Moving Forward in Reverse: Greatest Hits. Like all greatest hits albums, it brought all the fan favorites together in one place and really was a treat for their fans. One of the songs off the album has been used as a theme song for a WWE show. This is giving the band even more exposure and likely will bring in even more fans.
